Delta, a global leader in power management and provider of IoT-based smart green solutions, has introduced its latest innovation in electric vehicle (EV) charging technology with the launch of the 500kW DC Ultra-fast EV Charger UFC 500. This cutting-edge charging solution addresses the escalating demand for high-power charging while overcoming challenges in land acquisition for EV charging operators.
Vincent Lin, Vice President of eMobility and Smart Energy Solutions at Delta EMEA, emphasized the UFC 500’s capability to deliver ultra-fast charging, significantly reducing pressure on the grid. By integrating with Delta’s EV charging management system, DeltaGrid EVM, and energy storage solutions, the UFC 500 exemplifies the fusion of EV charging and smart energy management, ensuring exceptional performance and efficiency to meet current and future charging requirements.
The UFC 500 boasts an exceptional power-to-footprint ratio, enabling it to charge one heavy-duty electric vehicle, such as an e-truck or e-bus, with a large battery capacity at 460 kW power within just 2 hours. This rapid charging capability translates to a full-day driving range, making it an ideal solution for fleet-, depot-, logistic-, industrial-, and public charging installations.
Featuring a state-of-the-art power module utilizing silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor technology, the UFC 500 ensures high overall conversion efficiency, compactness, and lightweight construction. Its robust design meets IP55 and IK10 standards, guaranteeing reliability and high service availability in various conditions.
Designed for seamless integration and ease of use, the UFC 500 simplifies setup and management with network connectivity, backward compatibility, and energy management features. The charging station also incorporates a sophisticated cable management solution and an integrated credit card payment system for added convenience.
To address grid pressure challenges, the UFC 500 integrates seamlessly with Delta’s DeltaGrid EVM, enabling prioritization, scheduling, and configurable limits to charging power. This system supports energy reduction strategies, peak shaving, and prevents overloads, ensuring high-performance EV charging without compromising grid integrity.
Experience the future of EV charging technology firsthand at the Nordic EV Summit from April 4-5, 2024, in Oslo, Norway.
