ETO Motors, India’s leading Electric Mobility as a Service (EMaaS) company, has introduced a pioneering initiative called Own Your ETO (OYE) Scheme, welcoming 150 auto drivers in Mumbai as a part of this novel program.

The recruitment drive, held on December 28, 2023, witnessed participation from over ten auto unions. Shri Jitendra Babu Rao Patil, Joint Transport Commissioner, Government of Maharashtra, graced the event as the Chief Guest, where 150 auto drivers were selected under the innovative OYE Scheme.

Under this scheme, participating driver partners are set to become owners of electric 3-wheelers within a span of 3 years. ETO Motors will further provide comprehensive accidental insurance coverage for these drivers.

ETO Motors has formalized agreements with auto unions in Mumbai to facilitate the deployment of e3Ws across the city. Additionally, they will enter into agreements with individual auto driver partners. The company will levy a daily rental charge, which includes unlimited free charging at designated EV points established by ETO Motors. Moreover, the company will provide free vehicle maintenance conducted by experts, ensuring a seamless experience for both driver partners and commuters.

All driver partners will utilize the ETO-provided app to access commuters seeking rides nearby. They will be required to complete a minimum of 95 trips per week without cancellations. Earnings accrued by the driver partners through the app will be transferred weekly under the OYE Scheme.

For existing auto drivers interested in becoming owners of an E-Auto through the OWN YOUR ETO Scheme, prerequisites include a verified local address (Electricity or Gas bill), a valid 3-wheeler license, and an identity card (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or valid Passport).

Surender Nath, Executive Director of ETO Motors, expressed enthusiasm about the recruitment of driver partners under the OYE Scheme. Nath emphasized the company’s commitment to partnering with drivers to provide opportunities for earning a livelihood while contributing to reducing vehicular emissions and pollution.

ETO Motors has plans to collaborate with Auto Unions to introduce 500 e3Ws every quarter, aiming to bolster employment opportunities and contribute to environmental sustainability in Mumbai.

The e3Ws are manufactured at ETO Motors’ advanced manufacturing facility in Jadcherla, Telangana, housing modern research and development labs. Safety and technology are paramount in the manufacturing process, with e3Ws featuring seatbelts, being IoT-connected, and equipped with a fully integrated Vehicle Control Unit.
