Servotech Power Systems And Lloyd Institute Collaborate To Boost EV Research And Infrastructure

Servotech Power Systems Ltd., the leading EV charger manufacturer in India, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lloyd Institute of Engineering and Technology. The collaboration aims to advance research, education, training, faculty development programs (FDPs), and innovation in electric vehicle (EV) technology and charging infrastructure.

As part of the agreement, an exclusive research and development lab and a center of excellence dedicated to EV charging technology and infrastructure will be established. Servotech will provide internship and job opportunities to trainees from this center, enhancing the practical experience and industry exposure.

Furthermore, the company plans to install a charging station with a 14 kW EV Charger within Lloyd’s premises, catering to 2, 3, and 4-wheelers. Accessible to students and faculty, the station will offer free charging and extend services to the public and students from nearby institutes, promoting a community-oriented approach and contributing to the widespread adoption of EVs.

The R&D center’s objectives include fostering innovation, creating awareness, sensitizing individuals, and upskilling students in line with industry requirements, advancing research in EV technology and charging. It will also provide training, organize seminars, and conduct workshops to share knowledge and insights. Through internship and job opportunities, Servotech aims to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between education and industry innovation. The installation of an EV charging station demonstrates the practical application and accessibility of EV charging infrastructure, aligning with India’s vision of becoming an EV-powered nation.

Arun Handa, the Chief Technical Officer at Servotech Power Systems, expressed that the Research and Development (R&D) center will play a pivotal role in driving significant technological advancements within the fast-paced domain of electric vehicles (EVs). He anticipates the establishment of a collaborative ecosystem that will bring advantages to students, faculty members, and professionals in the industry.

Manohar Thairani, President of Lloyd Institute of Engineering and Technology, emphasized the collaboration’s significance in providing real exposure and understanding of the EV sector to students. The center will act as a hub for addressing various needs in e-mobility and supplying trained manpower for industries beyond EV, contributing to India’s vision of being an EV-powered nation and mission Viksit Bharat.
