Nissan Reports Increase In Global Production, Sales And Exports In March 2023

Nissan Motor Co. announces global production, sales, and export figures for March 2023 and the April 2022 – March 2023 period. In March 2023, global production saw a significant increase of 22.2% compared to the same period in the previous year, with Japan’s production surpassing year-earlier results by 68.1% and outside Japan by 15.1%.

However, in the April 2022 – March 2023 period, global production declined 3.7% from the previous year, with Japan’s production seeing an increase of 33.8% while production outside Japan saw a decline of 9.4%. In terms of sales, global sales in March 2023 surpassed the previous year’s results by 5.4%, with sales outside Japan seeing an increase of 8.1%.

However, in the April 2022 – March 2023 period, global sales declined 17.1% from the previous year, with sales outside Japan seeing a significant decline of 20.0%. In addition, exports from Japan in March 2023 saw an increase of 107.3% compared to the same period in the previous year, while exports in the April 2022 – March 2023 period surpassed year-earlier results by 40.8%.

1. Production

Global production in March surpassed year-earlier results by 22.2%. Production in and outside Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 68.1% and 15.1%, respectively.

2. Sales

March 2023

Global sales in March surpassed year-earlier results by 5.4%.

  • Sales including mini-vehicles in Japan declined 6.3% from a year earlier.
    • Sales of registered vehicles in Japan declined 4.6% from a year earlier.
    • Minivehicle sales in Japan declined 8.7% from a year earlier.
  • Sales outside Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 8.1%.

April 2022 – March 2023

Global sales in the April 2022 – March 2023 period declined 17.1% from a year earlier.

  • Sales including mini-vehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 6.1%.
    • Sales of registered vehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 0.3%.
    • Minivehicle sales in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 15.6%.
  • Sales outside Japan declined 20.0% from a year earlier.

3. Exports from Japan

March 2023

Exports from Japan in March surpassed year-earlier results by 107.3%. Exports from Japan in the April 2022 – March 2023 period surpassed year-earlier results by 40.8%.
