Olectra Greentech Bags Order Of 1400 E-Buses Of Worth 2400 Crores

Olectra Greentech, a leader of the Indian electric vehicle industry for bus bags orders of 1400 E-buses. The value of these 1,400 Buses would be approximately Rs. 2,450 Crores. With this order, the total count of E-buses related orders will be approximately 8000-10,000 in the country at the industry level and this will help in boosting the Indian EV ecosystem. Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY) has been declared as the Least Quoted (L-1) bidder for 1,400 (+ 50% Variation) Electric Buses from one of the State Transport Undertakings. This Tender is for the supply of the said Electric Buses on the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) / OPEX model for a period of 12 years (Contract Period).

Toyota Group Signs MoU With Government Of Karnataka Of Worth Rs. 4,800 Crores

In its effort to contribute to the country’s vision of “Make in India” and to enable a faster reduction in carbon emissions, out of the total investment of INR 4,800 crores, the Toyota Group of Companies that constitutes of Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts announced their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Karnataka to invest INR 4,100 crores. This announcement coincides with Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s 25 years of a successful journey in India, by winning the hearts of millions of happy customers. In addition to boosting the local manufacturing ecosystem, the new development will provide an impetus to employment generation and local community development. This investment will also spur the growth of the local supplier base and hence result in higher investments and further job creation.

EKA Chairman, Dr Sudhir Mehta Showcases EKA E9 Electric Bus To Nitin Gadkari

The Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari attended an event and Dr Sudhir Mehta, Chairman, EKA & Pinnacle Industries Ltd showcased him EKA E9, the first Made-in-India electric bus. EKA E9 is the first battery-electric bus of the company. The bus has a complete composite structure and a monocoque stainless steel chassis. At once, the bus can carry up to 21 passengers only. The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of E9 is much lower than the busses running on the roads of the country currently which come with a combustion engine-powered (ICE).

Government Committee Finds Defects In Battery Cells And Battery Designs In Almost All EV Fires

The preliminary results from the government made a committee for the electric vehicles’ fires have found issues with battery cells and battery designs in almost all of the fire incidents that took place. Last month, the central government made a committee to investigate the battery blasts and EV fires in the electric scooters of Pure EV, Ola Electric, Boom Motor, Jitendra EV, and Okinawa Autotech. Several incidents took place in recent times. An 80-year-old man passed away and 2 others were injured when the battery of Pure EV’s electric scooter exploded in the house in Telangana.

Subsidiary Of Ashok Leyland, Switch Mobility To Invest Rs 1,000 Crore In An Electric Vehicle Facility

Switch Mobility, a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland will invest Rs 1,000 crore in an electric vehicle facility in South India. The plant might be located near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The EV facility will manufacture 30,000 electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) and will also launch 10,000 electric buses. Ashok Leyland will shift its other EV manufacturing operations to this plant once the plant is ready for operation. Currently, Ashok Leyland is manufacturing electric buses in its Ennore plant in Tamil Nadu. The company will also use some space in its Hosur plant for eLCVs.

Chartered Speed Signs MoU With GIFT City To Speed Up EV Adoption In India

Mobility services provider Chartered Speed has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GIFT City – India’s first Smart City and IFSC, to work together towards building a dynamic Electric Vehicles (EV) ecosystem in the city. The collaboration aims to enhance public transport facilities for commuting to and from GIFT city, as well as promote and strengthen EV infrastructure in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar region. As part of the MoU, Chartered Speed will provide EV mobility for intra and inter-city travel in which the company will operate an electric bus service connecting GIFT City with Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and provide electric bikes for the convenience of people working, residing and visiting GIFT City.
