
Jammu Smart City Ltd (JSCL) invites tenders for procuring electric autos. These tenders will come under the smart city projects. The officials will also invite tender for electric buses.
The e-autos will run on the newly identified routes and will replace petrol and diesel vehicles gradually. The road transport agency identified these routes.
41 routes have been notified for operating electric rickshaws as per Jammu’s regional transport officer. Divisional Commissioner Ragav Langhar has asked the concerned authorities to issue the permissions for the specified routes.
The CEO of JSCL, Avny Lavasa said that government will provide subsidies and old rickshaws can be replaced with electric autos.
Last month, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha took a ride on an electric bus during the trial run of the e-bus fleet. Around 200 e-buses will be rolled out in Jammu & Kashmir.
