Olectra Greentech Receives An Order For 50 E-buses

Olectra Greentech has bagged a letter of award (LoA) from state transport authorities for 50 electric buses under the FAME-II scheme for inter-city operations. Olectra Greentech is the largest manufacturer of e-buses based out of Hyderabad.

The contract worth Rs 125 crore was signed and the electric buses are anticipated to be delivered in the coming 12 months. As of now, the company has delivered 1523 e-buses including the recent order of 50 electric buses.

The company said, “Out of the tenders where Olectra Greentech Limited and Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY) were declared as least-quoted (L-1) bidders for 353 buses; for 50 electric buses, Evey has received a letter of award from one of the state transport authorities (i.e for inter-city operations) under FAME-II scheme of the Government of India.”

“This order for the supply of 50 e-buses is on gross cost contract (GCC)/ OPEX model basis (i.e for Inter-city operations) is for a period of 12 years  The maintenance of these buses will also be undertaken by the Olectra during the contract period,” the company added.

Olectra Greentech receives its technical assistance from BYD, China’s largest maker of electric vehicles and the company is part of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd.
