Volkswagen announced the launch of Golf GTE and Golf eHybrid with advanced plug-in hybrid technology and upgraded features. With 200 kW (272 PS) output, the Golf GTE outperforms even the GTI. The Golf eHybrid offers 150 kW (204 PS) and enhanced comfort. The GTE boasts an extended all-electric range of up to 131 kilometers, while the eHybrid achieves up to 143 kilometers (combined). Both models feature a DC quick-charging function. Externally, they showcase updated LED headlights, redesigned tail lights, and standard 17-inch alloy wheels. Modern infotainment and driver assist systems enhance comfort. The Golf eHybrid starts at €44,240, while the Golf GTE is available from €46,745.

The combined electric range reaches up to 143 kilometers. With a system power of 200 kW (272 PS), the Golf GTE, as the sportier model, offers an electric range of up to 131 kilometers (combined). Power is transmitted to the front wheels through a specially designed six-speed direct shift gearbox for plug-in hybrid drives. The new plug-in hybrid system achieves exceptional efficiency through the adoption of a new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine (1.5 TSI evo2) with variable turbocharger geometry (VTG), highly efficient TSI-evo combustion process, and a new 19.7 kWh battery (net, compared to the predecessor’s 10.6 kWh). Both variants deliver impressive driving dynamics, with the electric motor providing ample torque from a standstill.
