The Audi Q6 e-tron series represents a significant milestone in the company’s transition toward premium electric mobility. Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show 2024, the brand introduces a customized variant for the Chinese market: the Audi Q6L e-tron.

This electric vehicle will be showcased as an exterior model during the spring motor show in Beijing, with the series version making its public debut in the fourth quarter of 2024. As part of Audi’s commitment to the Chinese market, the locally produced Audi Q6L e-tron will roll off the assembly line at a new factory in Changchun, with customer deliveries scheduled for 2025.

The Audi Q6L e-tron boasts impressive driving dynamics, efficient charging capabilities, and an extended range compared to the global model. Its longer wheelbase (increased by 105 millimeters) accommodates a larger battery, enabling CLTC ranges of over 700 kilometers. The “L” designation signifies the long wheelbase, a hallmark of exceptional long-distance performance.

For decades, Audi has crafted “L” models with extended wheelbases specifically for the Chinese market. Models like the A6L, A4L, Q5L, A8L, and A8L Horch have been well-received. Now, the Q6 e-tron family welcomes the Q6L e-tron, offering even more space, comfort, and practicality. The interior design philosophy complements this exclusivity, creating a generous passenger environment.

Distinctive SUV design elements, infused with e-tron-specific language, define the Audi Q6L e-tron. Notably, the China-specific version features a redesigned front end that evolves the Audi brand face, setting it apart from the global model. Exclusive colors, including Lilac Grey showcased at the Beijing auto show, enhance the progressive exterior design.

The extended wheelbase, coupled with a gracefully elongated roofline, results in elegant side proportions. Pioneering technologies, especially in the lighting units, usher in a new era of electromobility for Audi, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to “Vorsprung durch Technik” (Advancement through Technology) in China. The collaborative efforts behind the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), developed jointly with Porsche, and the E3 1.2 electronic architecture signify Audi’s strategic expansion of its globally electrified model lineup. These milestones mark the beginning of a comprehensive rejuvenation and strengthening of Audi’s portfolio.

With the Q6L e-tron, we are bringing the technological benefits of our new Premium Platform Electric to China. The model underscores our promise to offer electric vehicles in all core segments by 2027,” said Gernot llner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, during Beijing Auto Show.
