Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has secured top recognition at the prestigious Red Dot Award 2026, with its WN7 electric motorcycle and UNI-ONE mobility robot earning the coveted “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award in the Product Design category.
In addition to the top honors, Honda’s all-new Prelude hybrid sports model and Miimo 1500i/2200i robotic lawnmowers were also named Red Dot winners, marking another strong year for the company’s design innovation. This achievement extends Honda’s streak to seven consecutive years of recognition at the global design competition.
The Honda WN7, the brand’s first full-size electric naked motorcycle, was developed under the concept “Be the Wind.” It features a unique frameless structure where the battery case forms part of the frame, resulting in a lightweight, slim, and compact design. Its signature horizontal bar headlight is set to become a defining design element for future Honda electric motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the UNI-ONE mobility robot showcases Honda’s advancements in robotics, building on technologies developed through projects like ASIMO. Designed as a hands-free personal mobility device, UNI-ONE allows users to steer simply by shifting body weight while seated, offering intuitive movement for users of all ages. Its rounded, user-friendly design ensures seamless integration into public and commercial spaces.
The Miimo 1500i/2200i robotic lawnmowers were recognized for their smart automation features, including RTK-based wireless navigation and advanced obstacle detection using ultrasonic sensors. These innovations eliminate the need for boundary wires and enhance operational safety and efficiency.
Honda’s all-new Prelude hybrid sports model also stood out for its blend of performance and design. Built around the concept “Unlimited Glide,” the model incorporates Honda’s S+ Shift technology, delivering responsive driving dynamics and simulated gear-shifting for an engaging driving experience in the electrified era.
Commenting on the achievement, Toshinobu Minami said the awards reflect Honda’s commitment to enhancing mobility and enriching everyday life through innovative design. He emphasized that the company will continue to create products that inspire and expand people’s potential.
The Red Dot Award, established in 1955, is among the world’s most respected design competitions, evaluating products based on innovation, functionality, and quality. Honda’s latest wins highlight its continued leadership in combining advanced technology with human-centric design across mobility and lifestyle solutions.
