Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of its new A-segment electric vehicle, the Super-ONE, at Honda Cars dealerships across Japan. The compact EV is scheduled to go on sale in late May 2026.

Developed under the concept “e: Dash BOOSTER,” the Super-ONE aims to redefine everyday mobility by blending practicality with an engaging driving experience. Honda says the model is designed to deliver both environmental efficiency and the brand’s signature “fun to drive” philosophy.

One of the key highlights of the Super-ONE is its newly developed BOOST Mode, which enhances performance by increasing maximum power output from 47 kW to 70 kW. The system also integrates a simulated 7-speed transmission and Active Sound Control, offering drivers a virtual gear-shifting experience along with engine-like sound feedback—features intended to mimic the feel of a traditional combustion-engine vehicle.

Built on a lightweight platform derived from Honda’s N Series, the Super-ONE features a widened tread and a low center of gravity, achieved by placing a thin battery under the floor. Weighing approximately 1,090 kg, it is among the lightest EVs in its segment in Japan. The model delivers a driving range of up to 274 km (WLTC mode), balancing efficiency with everyday usability.

In terms of design, the Super-ONE adopts a sporty and dynamic exterior, highlighted by blister fenders, wide tires, and aerodynamic enhancements. The interior emphasizes driver engagement, featuring sports seats, a horizontally aligned instrument panel for improved visibility, and a digital triple-gauge cluster that includes a pseudo-tachometer.

The EV will be offered in five exterior colors, including a newly developed Boost Violet Pearl, inspired by atmospheric lightning phenomena. Inside, the cabin incorporates playful design elements such as asymmetric blue accents.

Enhancing the in-cabin experience, the Super-ONE comes equipped with an 8-speaker Bose Premium Sound System, marking the first time such an audio setup is featured in a Honda compact model in Japan. The system includes dynamic speed compensation and a high-capacity subwoofer for an immersive audio experience.

Ahead of its market debut, the Super-ONE is being showcased at the AUTOMOBILE COUNCIL 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from April 10 to 12.

With its combination of lightweight engineering, advanced driving modes, and immersive features, Honda’s Super-ONE signals a fresh approach to compact electric mobility in Japan.
