VinFast has announced the launch of a green vehicle rental program in Indonesia and Philippines, aiming to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption among ride-hailing and transport service drivers. The initiative introduces a flexible access model that combines rental and ownership options to support the region’s transition toward sustainable mobility.

The program allows drivers to rent EVs from VinFast’s Green lineup through its authorized dealership network, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional vehicle ownership. Designed amid rising global fuel prices, the rental model requires a low upfront deposit and offers long-term contracts with competitive daily rates starting from IDR 312,500 in Indonesia and PHP 1,000 in the Philippines.

In addition to rentals, VinFast continues to provide tailored financing solutions for drivers opting for ownership. These plans are structured to reduce initial financial burden and align repayment schedules with drivers’ income streams, enabling improved cash flow and quicker returns on investment.

The initiative focuses on VinFast’s purpose-built Green vehicle lineup, including the Herio Green and Limo Green models. These EVs are engineered for high-frequency transport services, offering durability, energy efficiency, and optimized total cost of ownership while maintaining passenger comfort.

The rollout will initially target key urban centers such as Greater Jakarta and Metro Manila, with plans for gradual expansion across both countries. Drivers and commercial operators will also benefit from VinFast’s growing EV ecosystem in Southeast Asia, including free charging at V-Green stations through March 2029, significantly reducing operational costs.

According to Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Automotive Sales at VinFast, the initiative represents a strategic step toward advancing the green transition in the commercial transport sector. She emphasized that the program not only helps reduce emissions but also provides drivers with stable income opportunities and improved quality of life.

VinFast’s parent company, Vingroup, is further supporting the transition with additional incentives, including the “Trade Gas for Electric” program and promotional discounts on Green SM electric ride services.

With this initiative, VinFast continues to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia while promoting cleaner, more accessible transportation solutions for both drivers and passengers.
