Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN), the Chinese joint venture of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., has officially launched the all-new NX8, a mid-size electrified SUV tailored for the Chinese market.

The NX8 becomes the third model in Nissan’s N Series lineup, following the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan and the N7 mid-size electric sedan. Developed under the concept of “an ideal SUV for every family,” the NX8 combines advanced technology, comfort, and safety, offering 71 standard features across all variants. The model is priced between approximately 159,900 yuan and 209,900 yuan.

To cater to diverse customer needs, the NX8 is available with two powertrain options: a battery electric vehicle (EV) and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV). The EV lineup includes three variants—580 Pro, 580 Max, and 650 Max—delivering a maximum range of up to 650 km (CLTC). Built on an 800V architecture with ultra-fast 5C charging, the vehicle can recover around 300 km of range in just six minutes.

Meanwhile, the REEV variants—150 Pro, 150 Max, and 310 Max—offer up to 310 km of pure electric range and a total driving range of up to 1,450 km. Fuel efficiency during gasoline operation stands at 4.51 liters per 100 km, ensuring long-distance capability with improved efficiency.

The NX8 emphasizes passenger comfort with a spacious interior, including a 773-liter luggage capacity and best-in-class rear headroom of 1,285 mm. Features such as AI Zero Gravity Seat 2.0 with massage functionality, a bi-directional onboard refrigerator, and motion sickness prevention technology enhance the in-cabin experience. A dedicated “Pet Protection Mode” further adds to its family-friendly appeal.

On the technology front, the SUV is equipped with dual 15.6-inch displays, Nissan OS 2.0, an AI voice assistant, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset. An augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) and automatic parking assist system contribute to a more intuitive and safer driving experience.

Safety remains a key focus, with the NX8 featuring the Cloud Shield Battery 2.0 system using CATL cells, tested against 146 safety parameters. The vehicle also incorporates a steel-aluminum hybrid body structure with ultra-high-strength materials and advanced driver assistance systems co-developed with Momenta.
