Bijliride has announced a major expansion of its franchise network under the Franchise Owned–Franchise Operated (FOFO) model, aiming to scale its presence across more than 25 high-growth cities in India. The company plans to onboard up to 30 franchise partners by March 2027 while significantly increasing its electric two-wheeler fleet over the next 12–18 months.
As part of its growth strategy, Bijliride is targeting a fleet expansion to over 10,000–15,000 electric two-wheelers, which is expected to drive nearly 150% growth in its overall operations within the next 1 to 1.5 years. The move comes amid rising demand for sustainable mobility solutions, particularly from logistics operators, gig economy platforms, and urban commuters.
The company is currently evaluating several key markets including Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Kolkata, Lucknow, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Goa, among others. These cities have been identified based on increasing demand for affordable and eco-friendly last-mile mobility solutions.
Under the FOFO model, franchise partners will own and operate their fleets locally, while Bijliride provides a centralized technology platform and operational support. The platform includes real-time vehicle tracking, fleet analytics, rental management systems, and battery monitoring, ensuring standardized operations across all markets.
A typical entry-level franchise requires an investment of ₹14–16 lakh for around 50 electric two-wheelers. The company estimates a break-even period of 12–15 months under stable utilization conditions, with revenue generated through rentals and enterprise mobility partnerships.
Commenting on the expansion, Shivam Sisodiya said that the demand for electric mobility is growing rapidly, especially among gig workers and last-mile delivery operators. He emphasized that the FOFO model enables disciplined and scalable growth by leveraging local entrepreneurial expertise alongside Bijliride’s technology and operational systems.
In addition to infrastructure support, Bijliride assists franchise partners with driver onboarding, demand generation, and marketing initiatives. The company also connects its fleet network with gig platforms, logistics firms, and local businesses to ensure consistent utilization.
Looking ahead, Bijliride aims to strengthen its position in India’s evolving EV ecosystem by building a scalable, technology-driven mobility network that benefits both entrepreneurs and riders.
