Green SM has officially launched its all-electric taxi operations in Bali through a strategic partnership with Taksi Komotra, marking a major milestone in Indonesia’s transition toward sustainable urban mobility.

The service debut coincides with the 238th anniversary of Denpasar City, with Green SM offering a limited-time 25 percent fare promotion of up to IDR 238,000 per trip to celebrate the occasion.

Under the partnership structure, Green SM provides the technology platform, electric vehicle fleet, operational standards, and structured driver development systems, while Taksi Komotra contributes its local network and operational expertise across Bali. The collaboration is designed to integrate advanced electric mobility solutions with established on-ground capabilities to deliver a scalable and governance-driven transport model.

Operations in Bali will follow Green SM’s “5 Green Promises” service commitment framework, ensuring high service standards through professional drivers, safe and well-maintained vehicles, transparent pricing, enhanced passenger experience, and environmental responsibility.

The fleet consists entirely of zero-emission electric vehicles powered by VinFast, eliminating exhaust emissions and fuel combustion. Vehicles are maintained under strict technical and safety protocols to ensure consistent performance while contributing to cleaner air and reduced urban noise levels.

A key pillar of the rollout is the Green SM Driver ecosystem, positioning drivers as professional green mobility ambassadors guided by five core values: Respect, Professionalism, Dedication, Discipline, and Competitive Income with Stable Career Pathways. Structured training programs and transparent earnings mechanisms are designed to elevate driving standards while aligning income stability with sustainability goals.

The launch comes amid rising transportation demand fueled by Bali’s tourism growth. The Indonesia Tourism Outlook 2025 highlights increasing demand for environmentally responsible travel options, reinforcing the role of electric mobility in long-term development planning. Projections from Indonesia’s National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) estimate that green employment nationwide could reach between 4.8 million and 5.3 million by 2029, underlining the broader economic impact of sustainable industries.

Deny Tjia, Managing Director of Green SM Indonesia, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to building a well-governed and high-quality mobility ecosystem. “By combining electric vehicles with professional driver development and clear operational standards, we aim to support Bali’s sustainable tourism ambitions while delivering safe, reliable, and comfortable rides,” he said.

H. Hasbi, Chairman of Koperasi Komotra, described the collaboration as a step toward making electric mobility a new standard for tourism and daily transportation on the island.

The Bali expansion follows Green SM’s earlier launches in Jakarta, Makassar, Bekasi, and Surabaya, where the service has gained traction among residents and international visitors for its clean fleet, structured safety standards, and professional service culture.

Green SM operates under GSM (Green Smart Mobility), founded by Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, and is recognized as the world’s first fully electric multi-platform ride-hailing service. The Bali launch further strengthens Indonesia’s position in Southeast Asia’s accelerating electric mobility transformation.
