Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially entered Indonesia’s fast-growing e-scooter market, marking a key milestone in its international expansion strategy. The company announced the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with multiple strategic local dealers, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Southeast Asia’s largest motorcycle market.
VinFast has partnered with leading Indonesian distributors, including K3, Citra Abadi Sedaya, PT Bevos Auto Mandiri, PT Sapta Jaya, MotorArt, PT Sinergies Dua Kawan, and PT HINU. These partners bring extensive experience in automotive and motorcycle distribution, strong market insights, and operational capabilities aligned with VinFast’s global standards.
The company plans to roll out its initial distribution network in the Jabodetabek region, Indonesia’s largest urban and economic hub, starting from the second quarter of 2026, with nationwide expansion planned in subsequent phases.
In Indonesia, VinFast will introduce a lineup of battery-swapping electric scooters, including VinFast Evo, Feliz II, Flazz, and Viper, along with additional models to be launched later. These products have been designed to suit Indonesia’s tropical climate, dense urban traffic, and daily commuting needs.
VinFast aims to establish hundreds of authorized dealerships and service workshops across Indonesia throughout 2026, supported by an integrated ecosystem that includes financing solutions, charging and battery-swapping infrastructure in collaboration with V-Green, and partnerships with major financial institutions.
The Indonesian expansion follows VinFast’s earlier dealer agreements in the Philippines, as part of its broader strategy to scale its electric two-wheeler business across five priority markets in 2026—the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Commenting on the development, Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, said Indonesia is a strategic market for the company’s global expansion, highlighting strong partner confidence in VinFast’s product quality, service standards, and battery-swapping model. She added that VinFast aims to support Indonesia’s transition toward greener and smarter mobility solutions.
Indonesia is one of the world’s largest motorcycle markets, driven by rapid urbanization, high population density, and growing demand for sustainable transportation. VinFast believes these factors create significant growth potential for electric two-wheelers in the country.
VinFast has been present in Indonesia for two years, introducing electric SUVs, transportation-focused EV models, and establishing operations at its Subang facility. The company has also expanded its dealership network, charging infrastructure, and financial partnerships to accelerate EV adoption and lower barriers for consumers.
VinFast reiterated its commitment to building a comprehensive green mobility ecosystem in Indonesia, positioning the country as a key pillar in its global electric mobility expansion strategy.
