Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), has set a landmark record with its Eicher Pro X EV, becoming the first electric commercial vehicle to complete a fully loaded journey from Srinagar, Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. The record-setting expedition, recognized by the India Book of Records (IBR), covered over 4,000 kilometers in six days, from January 20 to January 26, 2026.

The journey took the Eicher Pro X EV across India’s diverse terrains and climatic zones, including the Himalayas, northern plains, Deccan Plateau, and coastal ghats, demonstrating the EV’s capability in long-haul, fully loaded operations. The run was executed in association with Behind the Wheels, a leading voice in the commercial vehicle industry, with IBR adjudicators accompanying the vehicle to verify route compliance, loading conditions, charging halts, distance, and journey time.

Throughout the trip, the Pro X EV relied on a network of public charging stations accessible via the MyEicher App, highlighting the growing feasibility of India’s EV charging infrastructure for commercial applications.
