Volvo Cars has introduced a rugged new addition to its growing electric lineup, unveiling the Volvo EX60 Cross Country on the same day it revealed the all-electric Volvo EX60 to the world. The new Cross Country variant blends Volvo’s long-running “go anywhere” identity with a fully electric platform, promising more ground clearance, distinctive design upgrades, and long-range capability for customers who want adventure without sacrificing modern technology.
“The EX60 Cross Country is the EX60 for anyone with a ‘go anywhere’ attitude,” said Erik Severinson, Chief Commercial Officer, describing the vehicle as a continuation of Volvo’s Cross Country legacy—first launched in 1997—now redesigned for the electric era.
A Bold Look Inspired by Scandinavian Nature
Volvo is emphasizing the Cross Country’s signature rugged styling with a fresh visual package. The EX60 Cross Country debuts a new exclusive paint shade called Frost Green, a color Volvo says is inspired by Scandinavian landscapes.
Unique exterior features include:
- Exclusive Cross Country wheels
- Cross Country branding on the front and rear bumpers and the D-pillar
- Brushed stainless-steel skid plates at the front and rear
- Wider, rugged wheel arches for a stronger stance
While the styling is designed to stand out, Volvo stresses the vehicle’s upgrades go beyond appearance.
Higher Ride Height for Confidence and Control
As an SUV, the EX60 already offers a higher seating position, which Volvo says improves visibility and control. In Cross Country form, those advantages increase further.
Compared to the standard EX60, the Cross Country sits:
- 20 mm higher from the ground as standard
- With air suspension, drivers can raise it an additional 20 mm when needed
Volvo also notes the air suspension can lower the car for:
- Better highway stability
- Improved aerodynamics
- Greater high-speed efficiency, supporting longer range
Two AWD Electric Versions, Up to 640 km Range
Volvo confirmed that the EX60 Cross Country will be offered with two all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain options:
- P10 AWD Electric — up to 640 km of range (WLTP, preliminary)
- P12 AWD Electric — a longer-range version arriving shortly after
The P10 variant will be the first to launch.
Volvo also highlighted core EX60 strengths such as fast charging, state-of-the-art technology, and features designed to make driving “easier, safer, better and more enjoyable.”
Pre-Orders Open in Europe
The Volvo EX60 Cross Country is now available for pre-orders in select European markets, with Volvo planning to expand availability to more regions later in 2026.
Key Notes
Volvo cautioned that:
- Features and services may vary by market and variant
- Range figures are preliminary and based on WLTP standards
- Real-world range depends on factors such as driving style, temperature, speed, and weather
