Bijliride, India’s leading SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform, has announced the launch of its Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) expansion model, marking a significant step toward democratizing electric vehicle (EV) entrepreneurship in the country.

Under the new strategy, the company plans to expand operations to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi NCR, while onboarding over 20 franchise partners and deploying 5,000 electric two-wheelers by FY2026. The model is designed to enable local entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and mobility operators to actively participate in India’s growing clean mobility ecosystem, while allowing Bijliride to scale in a capital-efficient and community-driven manner.

Through the franchise programme, partners will gain access to Bijliride’s proprietary fleet management and SaaS technology, along with end-to-end marketing, branding and operational support. The company has also established partnerships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and financial institutions to streamline vehicle procurement and financing for franchisees.

The business structure follows a 70:30 profit-sharing model, ensuring shared growth between Bijliride and its partners. Franchisees are required to invest ₹14–16 lakh for an initial fleet of 50 vehicles, with breakeven expected within 13 months of stable operations. While Bijliride will manage technology infrastructure, lead generation and brand standards, franchise partners will oversee local operations, fleet utilisation and customer engagement.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Shivam Sisodiya, CEO and Co-Founder of Bijliride, said the initiative aims to make electric mobility more accessible and commercially viable.

Our goal has always been to make electric mobility scalable, profitable and inclusive. This franchise model allows local business owners to become direct participants in the EV revolution, supported by our technology, operational expertise and brand credibility. We believe this will empower entrepreneurs while accelerating India’s transition to clean mobility, he said.

Founded in 2020, Bijliride currently operates a fleet of over 4,000 electric vehicles across major Indian cities, serving both individual commuters and enterprise clients. The platform offers 24/7 battery swapping, on-road assistance and enterprise fleet management solutions, addressing urban challenges such as air pollution and rising transportation costs.

With its franchise-led growth strategy, Bijliride aims to build a decentralised and sustainable urban mobility network, targeting one million users by 2030 and playing a key role in shaping India’s electric mobility future.
