BMW Group closed 2025 with higher global vehicle sales, driven largely by strong demand for electrified models in Europe and the United States, even as market conditions remained challenging in China.

The premium automaker delivered 2,463,715 vehicles worldwide, marking a 0.5% year-on-year increase. Sales of electrified vehicles – including battery-electric and plug-in hybrid models – reached 642,087 units, up 8.3% from the previous year. Fully electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries rose to 442,072 units, with Europe recording a sharp 28.2% growth in BEV sales.

Electrified models accounted for 26% of BMW Group’s total global sales, while BEVs alone represented around 18%.

Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands and Sales, said the results reflected growing customer confidence in the company’s diversified technology strategy.

In a challenging environment, we sold more vehicles than in the previous year, with strong demand for our electrified vehicles in particular,” Goller said. “In Europe, battery-electric vehicles already make up about a quarter of total sales, and BEVs and PHEVs together exceed 40%.

BMW Group said subdued demand in China was effectively offset by growth in other regions, underscoring the benefits of its multi-brand and multi-technology strategy.

With electrification momentum building and a major product rollout ahead, the company expects 2026 to further strengthen its position in the global premium automotive market.
