Ajman marked a significant milestone in its clean mobility journey with the inauguration of the first integrated electric vehicle (EV) Charging Hub in the Emirate, also the first of its kind across the North Emirates. H.H. Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation in Ajman, attended the inauguration ceremony, underscoring the Emirate’s commitment to sustainable transportation and future-ready infrastructure.
The state-of-the-art hub is the latest project by Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV), the UAE’s national charging point operator. During his visit, His Highness reviewed the hub’s advanced facilities, which incorporate cutting-edge technological systems designed to enhance efficiency and user experience. The hub has the capacity to charge 20 electric vehicles simultaneously and features the region’s fastest 400 kW ultra-fast charger, setting a new benchmark for EV charging infrastructure in the North Emirates.
Officials briefed His Highness on the hub’s key features, highlighting its role as a strategic step towards strengthening the UAE’s EV charging ecosystem and accelerating the nation’s transition to clean and sustainable mobility.
Commenting on the launch, H.E. Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV, said the project reflects the UAE’s national commitment to sustainability and future-ready mobility. “This hub embodies the vision of our leadership to deliver innovative infrastructure that supports clean transportation and enhances the quality of life for communities across the country,” he said.
Ali Al Darwish, Chief Executive Officer of UAEV, described the hub as a symbol of the UAE’s progress towards Net Zero. “As the national CPO, we are creating spaces where innovation, design and sustainability redefine the electric-vehicle experience. By addressing distance anxiety, we are enabling confidence, comfort and convenience for every driver. This is the future of mobility—born in the UAE, for the UAE,” he added.
Designed with a blend of contemporary aesthetics and high-performance capability, the new hub showcases innovation, design excellence and sustainability. The project aligns with UAEV’s mission to expand the national EV charging network with the highest standards of safety, innovation and customer experience, supporting the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the National Electric Vehicles Policy.
Launched in May 2024 as a joint venture between Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, UAEV is focused on accelerating the UAE’s transition to sustainable mobility. The company plays a key role in implementing the National Electric Vehicles Policy and the Demand Side Management Programme, which targets a 40 per cent improvement in transport energy efficiency.
Backed by EtihadWE’s expertise in utility services, UAEV aims to become a national leader in e-mobility infrastructure. Looking ahead, the company plans to deploy more than 1,000 EV chargers by 2030, supporting the long-term expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure across all seven emirates and advancing the UAE’s net-zero ambitions.
