The BMW Group has once again crossed the milestone of producing more than one million vehicles at its German manufacturing plants, underlining its position as a key pillar of Germany’s automotive industry. With this achievement, BMW Group now accounts for nearly one in four vehicles manufactured in Germany.

According to figures from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), a total of 4.15 million vehicles were produced across Germany in the same period, highlighting BMW Group’s significant contribution to national industrial output.

Commenting on the achievement, Milan Nedeljković, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, said the milestone reflects the competitiveness and innovative capacity of German industry. He emphasized that systematic use of innovation and digitalisation has been central to maintaining high production levels, while also calling on policymakers to ensure globally competitive framework conditions for Germany as an industrial location.

BMW Group’s production success is driven by its strategic manufacturing approach under the BMW iFACTORY vision. The company operates highly flexible production lines across its German plants in Dingolfing, Leipzig, Munich, and Regensburg, where vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and fully electric drivetrains (BEVs) are manufactured on the same assembly lines. This technology openness allows the company to respond swiftly to market fluctuations and changing customer demand.

The Dingolfing plant produces a wide range of premium models, including the BMW 5 Series, 7 Series, 8 Series, i5, i7, iX, and high-performance M variants. Leipzig focuses on compact BMW and MINI models, while Munich manufactures key volume models such as the BMW 3 Series, BMW i4, and BMW M3. Regensburg specializes in the BMW X1, X2, and their electric counterparts, the iX1 and iX2.

Most vehicles produced at BMW Group’s German facilities are supplied to the European market, aligning with the company’s strategy of globally distributed value creation. Production volumes in the Americas and China are similarly aligned with regional sales, ensuring balanced global operations.

Detailed production figures for 2025 will be released with the Integrated BMW Group Report in March 2026.
