Honda Reports Global Production Dip in November 2025 as Exports from Japan Continue to Rise

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. released its automobile production, sales, and export results for November 2025, reporting a year-on-year decline in global production for the second consecutive month, while exports from Japan recorded continued growth.

According to the company, worldwide automobile production in November 2025 stood at 218,927 units, down 33.7 percent compared to 329,978 units produced in November 2024. Production in Japan declined to 60,605 units, a 5.1 percent year-on-year decrease, marking the second straight month of decline. Production outside Japan fell sharply to 158,322 units, down 40.5 percent from the same period last year.

For the January–November 2025 period, Honda’s total global production reached 3.11 million units, reflecting a 9.9 percent decline compared to the corresponding period in 2024.

Region-wise, North America recorded production of 53,646 units in November, down 60.9 percent year-on-year, with the United States accounting for 33,186 units. Asia produced 97,581 units, an 18.6 percent decline, while China reported output of 68,284 units, down 15.1 percent compared to November 2024.

In the Japanese domestic market, Honda’s total automobile sales for November 2025 stood at 48,801 units, a 9.5 percent decrease year-on-year, marking the eighth consecutive month of decline. New vehicle registrations fell 8.0 percent to 26,319 units, while mini-vehicle sales dropped 11.2 percent to 22,482 units. Cumulatively, domestic sales between January and November 2025 declined 7.7 percent to 574,863 units.

In contrast, exports from Japan continued their upward trend. Honda exported 11,528 units in November 2025, up 20.4 percent from the same month last year, marking the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year growth. Exports to North America rose sharply to 482 units, up 53.5 percent, while shipments to Asia increased 74.1 percent to 754 units. European exports grew 37.2 percent to 8,086 units, although exports to other regions declined.

For the January–November 2025 period, total exports from Japan increased 21.2 percent year-on-year to 97,019 units, reflecting sustained overseas demand despite broader production and sales challenges.

Honda said the November results reflect ongoing adjustments in global production and market conditions, even as the company continues to strengthen its export performance and long-term business strategies across regions.
