Oben Electric, an India-born and R&D-driven electric motorcycle manufacturer, has raised ₹85 crore in its Pre-Series B funding round, marking a major milestone in its growth journey. The round saw participation from several prominent Indian-American family offices, including Raj K Soin, Musa Dakri and Ramesh Bhutada, along with continued backing from existing investors.

The fresh capital comes on the back of strong operating momentum, with the company reporting a 10-fold revenue growth over the past 12 months, reflecting rising market traction and customer trust. Oben Electric is now targeting revenues of ₹100 crore in FY26 and aims to achieve cost of goods sold (COGS) break-even by March 2026, underlining improving operational efficiency and cost discipline.

The company is also charting an aggressive expansion of its retail footprint. Oben Electric plans to scale to 150 exclusive showrooms and service centres by March 2026, followed by 500 showrooms over the next two years, driven by strong dealership interest and increasing customer validation. The company said dealer confidence remains high, with repeat interest from existing partners as dealerships turn profitable.

The newly raised funds will be used to accelerate the next phase of growth by expanding the distribution network, increasing brand visibility and fast-tracking new product development and launches. At the same time, Oben Electric is focusing on deeper vertical integration to optimise its bill of materials, improve production efficiency and scale manufacturing sustainably for the long term.

In 2025, the company expanded its sales channels to digital commerce platforms, making its electric motorcycles available on Amazon and Flipkart. This move has widened customer access and contributed to sustained demand across both online and offline channels. Currently, Oben Electric operates more than 85 showrooms across over 70 cities in 18 states.

Commenting on the fundraise, Madhumita Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric, said the round validates the company’s growth roadmap and capital discipline. “This funding gives us clear visibility to achieve COGS break-even by March 2026, a critical milestone for any EV OEM operating at scale. As we expand our distribution footprint with growing customer validation and dealer interest, we are well positioned to move toward EBITDA break-even by 2027 while scaling sustainably,” she said.

Raj K Soin, Chairman and CEO of Soin International and former founder of MTC Technologies (USA), said his decision to invest was driven by the company’s focus on quality, processes and the large untapped electric motorcycle market. Musa Dakri, Founder and Chairman of Wallis Bank (USA), noted that rising awareness around pollution, climate change and sustainable mobility positions Oben Electric well for long-term growth. Ramesh Bhutada, Founder of Star Pipe Products (USA), highlighted the leadership team’s passion and vision to deliver eco-friendly electric motorcycles to mass-market consumers in India.

Earlier this year, Oben Electric introduced the Rorr EZ Sigma, a next-generation city commuter electric motorcycle designed for everyday usability. The model features reverse mode, refined ergonomics and a connected colour TFT display with smart functionalities, and has received positive customer feedback for comfort and ease of use.

Oben Electric’s competitive edge lies in its vertically integrated manufacturing ecosystem, which includes in-house design, development and production of key EV components such as LFP batteries, motors, chargers and TFT displays at its 3.5-acre manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. With the latest infusion, the company’s total funding to date stands at ₹285 crore, and it is currently in active discussions to close its Series B round.

Founded in August 2020, Oben Electric operates with the vision of “Design in India for the World” and aims to become a global leader in electric motorcycles by delivering high-performance, safe and sustainable mobility solutions tailored to the world’s largest motorcycle market.
