Renault has officially unveiled the all-new Twingo E-Tech electric with a starting price of €19,490, positioning it as one of the most affordable electric cars in Europe’s A-segment and a potential game changer for mass electric mobility.

The electric city car is powered by a 60 kW (82 hp) motor paired with a 27.5 kWh LFP battery, delivering a driving range of up to 263 km (WLTP). Designed primarily for urban use, the Twingo E-Tech electric combines compact dimensions with high interior versatility and advanced technology typically found in higher segments.

Two Variants with Strong Value Proposition

The entry-level Evolution trim, priced at €19,490 (before government incentives), comes extensively equipped as standard. Key features include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch central touchscreen with smartphone replication, connected multimedia system, cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, rear parking sensors, manual air conditioning, and individually sliding rear seats.

The top-spec Techno version is priced at €21,090 and adds premium features such as Renault’s OpenR Link system with Google built-in, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, automatic climate control, one-pedal driving, a digital rear-view camera, and a folding front passenger seatback.

Affordable EV Ownership in France

Renault said that with government incentives, the Twingo E-Tech electric could become significantly more accessible. In France, energy-saving certificate bonuses could reduce the effective price to as low as €14,720 for eligible households in 2026, reinforcing Renault’s commitment to making EVs mainstream.

Compact Yet Spacious

Measuring just 3.79 metres in length, the Twingo E-Tech electric offers five doors and impressive interior flexibility. With sliding rear seats and a foldable front passenger seat, the car can provide up to 360 litres of boot space, a rare figure in the A-segment.

Charging and Technology

As standard, both variants are equipped with a 6.6 kW AC charger, enabling a full charge from 10% to 100% in around 4 hours 15 minutes. An optional Advanced Charge pack, priced at €500, adds an 11 kW AC bidirectional charger and 50 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10–80% charge in just 30 minutes. The pack also supports V2L and V2G functions, enabling energy sharing and reduced home charging costs.

General bookings open on January 8, 2026, while orders for the Evolution version will begin in spring 2026.

Available in vibrant colours such as Absolute Red, Absolute Green, Mango Yellow, and Starry Black, the new Twingo E-Tech electric revives the iconic spirit of the original model while embracing a fully electric, tech-forward future.

With aggressive pricing, modern EV technology, and a strong focus on urban usability, Renault aims to position the Twingo E-Tech electric as a cornerstone in Europe’s transition toward affordable, zero-emission city mobility.
