Toyota GAZOO Racing and Lexus have unveiled three groundbreaking performance models — the GR GT, GR GT3, and the all-electric Lexus LFA Concept — marking a significant milestone in the brands’ move toward electrified high-performance mobility. The world premiere took place at Toyota’s historic Higashi-Fuji Plant, now redesigned as the “Inventor’s Garage” for future mobility development.

The event featured presentations by Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, and Simon Humphries, Chief Branding Officer. Both highlighted how decades of racing heritage, engineering “humiliation,” and persistent innovation led to the creation of Toyota’s latest flagship performance machines.

At the center of attention was the Lexus LFA Concept, a low-slung electric sports car designed to redefine the sound and sensory experience of EV performance. With a height under 1,200 mm and dramatic proportions, the concept introduces Lexus’ vision for next-generation electric driving — pushing the boundaries of packaging, aerodynamics, and emotional engagement.

The GR lineup, meanwhile, showcased Toyota’s motorsport identity at full force. The GR GT3 racecar debuts with a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, lightweight aluminum spaceframe, and advanced aerodynamics engineered for competitive GT racing. Its road-going sibling, the GR GT hybrid, blends racing DNA with everyday usability, offering what Toyota calls “circuit-ready performance for daily life.”

In his address, Akio Toyoda reflected on the brand’s journey from being told “Lexus is boring” to developing cars that challenge global perception. He emphasized the role of motorsport in shaping Toyota’s electrified future, noting that lessons from Nürburgring racing continue to influence both hybrid and battery-electric performance development.

Toyota confirmed that the new performance trio is built on a shared race-bred platform poised to support multiple propulsion technologies — including hybrid powertrains, e-fuels, and full battery-electric systems — securing the emotional thrill of driving in an era of sustainable mobility.

The world premiere underscores Toyota’s ongoing transformation into a multi-pathway mobility company, blending carbon neutrality goals with motorsport passion to shape the next generation of high-performance electric sports cars.
