The Government of India has reported that ₹1,634.62 crore has been disbursed so far under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme as of November 23, 2025. The scheme is designed to accelerate electric mobility in the country through subsidies and infrastructure development.

A budget allocation of ₹500 crore has been dedicated specifically for the deployment of electric ambulances, and stakeholder consultations have already been completed to finalize the operating guidelines for e-ambulances. The PM E-DRIVE Scheme has been extended until March 31, 2028, for the e-ambulance segment along with other categories, while the terminal date for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers remains March 31, 2026.

The scheme also includes an allocation of ₹2,000 crore for establishing electric vehicle public charging infrastructure (EVPCI). However, as of November 23, 2025, no grants have yet been released for this purpose. Two Oil Marketing Companies have submitted proposals to install EV charging infrastructure under the scheme.

Under the e-bus initiative within PM E-DRIVE, 1,500 buses have been allocated to Mumbai and 2,800 to Delhi, while Pune has been sanctioned 1,000 e-buses. Guidelines for EV charging infrastructure have been issued to ensure accessibility and effective use, and they have been shared with all State Governments and Union Territories.
