Mahindra Marks Record-Breaking Year for XEV 9e & BE 6, Sells 30,000 Electric Origin SUVs in Just 7 Months

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a landmark year for its all-electric Electric Origin SUV lineup — the XEV 9e and BE 6 — achieving over 30,000 units sold within seven months, making it one of India’s fastest-scaling EV launches. The company reported that one Electric Origin SUV was sold every 10 minutes, helping Mahindra secure the No. 1 revenue market share in H1 FY26, with more than ₹8,000 crore in EV sales.

The Electric Origin SUVs have seen exceptionally high usage among customers, with 65% of vehicles driven daily. Over 1,000 units have already crossed 20,000 km, and some have surpassed 50,000 km within months. Mahindra revealed that around 60% of owners are achieving 500+ km real-world city range under typical urban driving conditions.

Engineered for Indian terrain and climate, the XEV 9e and BE 6 have been tested — and widely used — across extreme temperatures ranging from 4°C in Leh to 53°C in the Thar Desert. Nearly 30% of owners have completed 400 km single-day trips, while several have driven across 10 states in longer journeys, showcasing growing consumer confidence in long-range EV mobility.

The brand has also pulled in a new customer segment, with 80% of Electric Origin SUV buyers being first-time Mahindra customers. Luxury car intenders, young urban professionals, and tech-forward families have emerged as key adopters, significantly expanding Mahindra’s premium EV footprint.

The BE 6 has become a cultural phenomenon within a year of launch, with owners driving a wave of customizations, social media buzz, and community-led modifications. Its collaborations have also set records, including:

  • BGMI x BE 6: First-ever integration of an Indian auto brand into India’s biggest gaming franchise.
  • Batman x BE 6: A global-first collaboration, where all 999 limited-edition units sold out in under two minutes.

Mahindra also announced that customers have cumulatively driven more than 200 million kilometers in Electric Origin SUVs, solidifying the lineup as a mainstream, everyday mobility choice rather than a secondary urban EV.

The launch campaign for the XEV 9e and BE 6 recorded over 4 billion views, becoming one of the most successful automotive digital rollouts in India, and making the models among the most discussed vehicles of the year across platforms.
