In a major push to strengthen India’s EV infrastructure, Mahindra & Mahindra has inaugurated the first stations under its Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network and announced plans to deploy 1,000 charging points by 2027. Each station will feature 180 kW dual-gun chargers, making Charge_IN one of the fastest four-wheeler charging networks in the country.

The first two stations have opened at Hoskote on NH 75 (Bengaluru–Chennai corridor) and Murthal on NH 44, a key route north of Delhi. Each location can charge up to four electric vehicles simultaneously.

Building India’s High-Speed EV Backbone

The rollout is part of Mahindra’s mission to “UNLIMIT electric mobility,” supporting India’s goal of accelerating EV adoption through accessible and reliable public charging infrastructure. The company plans to set up 250 Charge_IN stations, each equipped with two ultra-fast chargers, delivering more than 1,000 individual charging points.

“Electric mobility is about driving a larger shift towards cleaner, sustainable transportation,” said Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division and Executive Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd. “With real-world ranges of 500 km on the XEV 9e and BE 6, and with our ultra-fast Charge_IN network, long-distance EV travel will become effortless and reliable—just like conventional driving.”

Fast Charging in 20 Minutes

The Charge_IN network is optimized for Mahindra’s upcoming eSUV lineup—including XEV 9e, BE 6, and XEV 9S—enabling 20–80% charging in just 20 minutes. The stations will be strategically positioned along highways and high-traffic corridors, co-located with cafes and restaurants to support natural halting points for travellers.

Open Access for All EV Brands

In a significant move towards inclusive infrastructure, Mahindra confirmed that Charge_IN stations will be accessible not only to Mahindra EVs but all electric four-wheelers through:

  • Charge_IN by Mahindra app
  • Leading third-party aggregator apps

Mahindra EV owners will also use the Me4U app, which already provides access to 34,000 public charging points across various charge point operators.

Driving India’s EV Transition

The launch of the Charge_IN network underscores Mahindra’s broader commitment to sustainable mobility and its ambitious electrification strategy. By providing highway-ready, ultra-fast charging, the company aims to eliminate range anxiety and make EVs practical for long-distance travel.
