The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal has issued a Limited Tender Enquiry for a new Solar Powered EV Charging Station. This project has been announced under Tender No. MANIT/ESE/2025:16, dated November 21, 2025, and is part of the institute’s efforts to expand its sustainable energy infrastructure. The charging station will be installed at the Department of Energy Science & Engineering, which is also responsible for managing the project.

The tender focuses on the supply and installation of a complete solar-powered electric vehicle charging system. One of the main components is a 30 kW DC charging station that must support the CCS2 connector type. It should also feature a 7-inch LCD touchscreen along with Wi-Fi, 4G, and Ethernet connectivity to ensure smooth operation and communication. Users must be able to authenticate themselves through QR Code or RFID, and the charger must comply with the OCPP 1.6J interoperability standard to ensure compatibility with modern EV charging networks.

The system will be powered by a solar array consisting of 15 kW of high-efficiency mono or bifacial photovoltaic modules. These solar panels must have an efficiency of more than 20 percent and fall within the capacity range of 500 to 590 watts per module. They will carry a 25-year warranty, reflecting long-term performance expectations. The solar power will feed into a 20 KVA three-phase grid-tie inverter, ensuring that the system can supply stable energy and integrate smoothly with the campus electrical network.

The tender also includes the construction of a strong carport made from hot-dip galvanized steel. This carport structure will not only support the solar panels but will also act as the physical shelter for the charging station. It must be designed to handle local wind conditions and offer durability and safety. The selected bidder must also provide repair and maintenance services for the entire system for a period of five years.

The estimated project cost is ₹15,00,000. Bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit, calculated at 2 percent of the tender value for projects falling within the specified financial range, and the amount must be rounded to the nearest hundred. The selected supplier must provide a Performance Security Deposit equal to 5 percent of the tender value. This deposit must remain valid for the one-year warranty period plus an additional two months. The warranty will begin once installation and commissioning are successfully completed.
