Audi has reinforced its long-term commitment to the world’s largest automotive market with a major showcase at Auto Guangzhou 2025, unveiling new electric models and concept vehicles under its two-brand, two-partner strategy in China. The company, which has launched five new locally developed models in the second half of 2025, is now advancing its largest-ever product initiative in the country.

Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said the brand’s operations in China have been “realigned for the future,” noting that cooperation with its partners FAW and SAIC is accelerating the rollout of both combustion and electric models. “We are moving at a swift pace,” he stated. “Each model is specially designed to meet the needs of our Chinese customers.”

A6L e-tron: Iconic Sedan Enters the Electric Era

The highlight of the showcase was the Audi A6L e-tron, the first fully electric member of the long-running A6L family. Developed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture and produced by the Audi FAW NEV Company in Changchun, the model brings the legacy of the A6L—one of China’s best-selling premium sedans—into the electric age.

Production of the A6L e-tron follows the Audi Q6L e-tron and Q6L Sportback e-tron, marking three localized PPE models launched within a single year.

AUDI E SUV Concept: Next Step for China-Exclusive Brand

Audi also premiered the AUDI E SUV concept, the second model preview from its China-exclusive sister brand AUDI, developed in partnership with SAIC. Based on the Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP), the concept introduces a futuristic design language crafted exclusively for China.

Measuring 5,057 mm long with a 3,060 mm wheelbase, the SUV emphasizes presence, digital innovation, and spaciousness. The production version is set to launch in 2026 as the second model under the AUDI brand, following the success of the E5 Sportback introduced earlier this year.

China Remains Central to Audi’s Global Strategy

Audi China President Johannes Roscheck highlighted the dual-powertrain approach—combining advanced combustion engines with rapidly expanding EV offerings—as essential for the brand’s sustained leadership. “Progress will continue into 2026,” he said, confirming multiple new market-specific models planned for next year.

With more than 100 global and Chinese brands participating, Auto Guangzhou has emerged as one of the world’s key automotive exhibitions. Audi’s strong presence this year underscores its ambitions to deepen local development, integrate Chinese digital technologies, and shape the future of premium mobility in its most important market.
