Marking a major milestone in its global electrification journey, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled its first-ever electric motorcycle, the Honda WN7, at the EICMA 2025 (Milan Motorcycle Show). The WN7 introduces Honda’s new electric motorcycle brand direction, combining the company’s engineering excellence with the emotional appeal of silent, high-performance mobility.

Developed under the concept “Be the Wind,” the WN7 captures the liberating sensation of gliding quietly through the air — offering riders an immersive experience where they can hear the world around them, from street sounds to the rustle of leaves.

Design and Innovation

With a frameless aluminum chassis where the centrally positioned battery serves as the core structural element, the WN7 achieves a sleek, compact silhouette and agile handling. Its signature horizontal light bar establishes a new visual identity for Honda’s upcoming electric motorcycles. The model also debuts a dedicated black-and-gold color scheme that will distinguish Honda’s EV lineup globally.

Performance and Powertrain

The WN7 is powered by a newly developed water-cooled motor with an integrated inverter, producing 50 kW of power — comparable to a 600cc ICE motorcycle — and 100 Nm of torque, equivalent to 1000cc-class performance. The setup includes a gearbox and belt-drive system, ensuring smooth and quiet power delivery.

Battery and Charging

A 9.3 kWh lithium-ion battery supports both CCS2 fast charging and Type 2 standard charging. Using a fast charger, the battery charges from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, while a full charge via standard charging takes under 2.4 hours, offering a 140 km range (WMTC mode).

Smart Features for Modern Riders

The motorcycle includes regenerative braking and a Deceleration Selector that lets riders adjust braking intensity for smoother control. A Walking Speed Mode assists in low-speed maneuvering, making parking and tight turns effortless.

Global Production and Rollout

The WN7 will be manufactured at Honda’s Kumamoto Factory in Japan — the company’s global motorcycle production hub — and will launch sequentially in key global markets as Honda accelerates its shift toward full motorcycle electrification.

The Honda WN7 embodies the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability under its global slogan, “The Power of Dreams. How we move you.” With its balance of technology, emotion, and environmental responsibility, the WN7 signals the beginning of a new chapter in Honda’s two-wheeler legacy.
