Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have energized the city’s 500th electric vehicle (EV) charging station, marking a significant milestone in Toronto’s transition toward cleaner transportation. Located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., the new charger joins Canada’s largest municipally owned EV charging network, making it easier and more convenient than ever to drive electric in Toronto.
Through close collaboration between TPA and Toronto Hydro, the city continues to expand charging access for residents and visitors alike. TPA now leads the operation and management of Toronto’s growing public EV network, while Toronto Hydro continues to play a key role in powering the city’s electrification goals.
Since installing its first EV charger in 2020, Toronto Hydro has supported the city’s rapid growth in clean mobility infrastructure. In 2025 alone, the utility will connect more than 4,000 EV charging stations across homes and buildings, ensuring that reliable, accessible power supports Toronto’s electric future.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers. Purposeful expansion of our EV network is a catalyst for EV adoption across Toronto by creating accessible, reliable, and trusted charging solutions for city residents. This milestone also reflects our passion to advance the City’s TransformTO Net Zero Strategy by building a more sustainable and integrated mobility eco-system to keep Toronto moving.” said Scott Collier, President, Toronto Parking Authority.
