In a major boost to India’s electric mobility ecosystem, ThunderPlus, the country’s fastest-growing EV charging network, has partnered with BijliRide, a leading SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform, to enhance the accessibility, convenience, and reliability of electric commuting across India.
The partnership aims to eliminate range and charge anxiety among public commuters and gig workers by integrating battery-swapping and fast-charging solutions across the ThunderPlus network.
Under this collaboration, all 250+ ThunderPlus hubs will now feature BijliRide battery-swapping machines, allowing both individual riders and gig-economy workers to swap batteries quickly and resume their journeys with minimal downtime.
ThunderPlus has also launched its flagship “Thunder Tej” 12 kW LEVDC fast charger for two- and three-wheelers under the campaign “Chai Pe Charge.” The charger enables two-wheelers to reach up to 80% battery capacity in just 10 minutes, offering a quick top-up during a tea break.
At ThunderPlus, we believe in collaboration over competition. All our partnerships aim to deepen EV penetration and strengthen India’s charging infrastructure. Through this partnership, ThunderPlus hubs evolve beyond fast-charging centers to become multi-activity economic hubs offering both fast charging and battery swapping,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus.
Hyderabad, BijliRide’s launch city, continues to spearhead EV adoption in India with its vibrant mix of students, professionals, and gig workers. The partnership will support BijliRide’s hub-and-spoke (STAR) expansion model, creating integrated pickup and drop-off points offering battery swapping, charging, and quick service support.
Our objective is clear — to make sustainable mobility more accessible and convenient for everyone in Hyderabad. With ThunderPlus’s infrastructure and BijliRide’s rental ecosystem, we’re building a connected urban commuting network,” said Shivam Sisodiya, CEO & Co-Founder of BijliRide.
The collaboration ensures that every EV user remains just minutes away from a service point, reducing downtime and enhancing the overall EV ownership experience.
Following the Hyderabad success, BijliRide plans to expand this model to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, scaling its infrastructure through similar strategic partnerships. Starting from its 24/7 flagship hub in Madhapur, Hyderabad, the STAR model aims to create a city-wide integrated network combining rentals, charging, and swapping under a single platform.
Together, ThunderPlus and BijliRide are shaping a future-ready EV ecosystem that promises clean, connected, and convenient mobility for millions across India.
