Century Lithium Corp., has announced that it has begun relocating its Lithium Extraction Facility, known as the Demonstration Plant, to the company’s site at Tonopah Airport, Nevada. This strategic move will consolidate operations, improve logistical efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen support for ongoing and future development activities.

Century Lithium’s proprietary end-to-end process begins with the treatment of Angel Island claystone under optimized conditions using hydrochloric acid, followed by neutralization with sodium hydroxide, both sustainably produced on-site through the electrolysis of salt water. After filtration, the resulting lithium chloride solution undergoes direct lithium extraction to selectively recover lithium, which is then refined into high-purity, battery-grade lithium carbonate for use in electric vehicle and energy storage applications.

Relocating the Demonstration Plant to Tonopah will provide expanded space for research and development on advanced battery materials, including lithium metal and lithium iron phosphate. The new location will also accommodate the construction of a larger assay and metallurgical laboratory to support both current and future testing needs for the Angel Island Project.
