Legacy EV, a leader in electric vehicle (EV) education and conversion technology, has partnered with SmarterHelp, an independent workforce development company spun out from ChargerHelp!, to launch a comprehensive joint training program that prepares technicians to work across the entire EV ecosystem—from vehicles to charging infrastructure.
The collaboration brings together two industry leaders with a shared mission to close the clean transportation talent gap by delivering hands-on, scalable training solutions for schools, workforce boards, and technical organizations across the United States.
The program begins with a foundational course titled “Intro to EV Jobs,” which covers key topics such as electrical theory, high-voltage safety, charging systems, and industry standards. After completing the introductory module, learners can pursue one of two specialized certification pathways:
- EV Technician Pathway (Legacy EV): Focused on electric vehicle systems, diagnostics, and battery management.
- EVSE Technician Pathway (SmarterHelp): Concentrated on charger installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
“The EV revolution depends as much on people as it does on technology,” said Mavrick Knoles, President of Legacy EV . “This partnership gives learners a clear, industry-aligned path to meaningful careers in clean transportation — the kind of work that’s shaping the future of mobility.”
“SmarterHelp’s mission is to make green jobs accessible to everyone, especially in communities that have historically been left out of the clean-energy economy,” said Kianna Scott, CEO of SmarterHelp . “Together with Legacy EV, we’re connecting the dots between vehicle and infrastructure training to build a workforce ready to keep the EV industry moving forward.”
