In a significant push toward inclusive and sustainable mobility, Zypp Electric, India’s leading EV rental platform, has partnered with the UK-based Shell Foundation to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Tier-2 cities and empower women in the last-mile delivery ecosystem.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Zypp’s mission to decarbonize last-mile logistics while creating livelihood opportunities through three key initiatives — expanding EV rental solutions to smaller cities, scaling women-centric delivery programs, and enhancing the EV Training Academy to train riders, especially women, in EV operation and maintenance.

Shell Foundation looks for businesses that meaningfully improve livelihoods while reducing emissions,” said Jonathan Berman, CEO of Shell Foundation. “We are proud to partner with Zypp Electric, which is providing opportunities for women and youth in the transport sector, scaling to less-served communities, and contributing to India’s green economy.

Through this partnership, Zypp Electric aims to democratize EV access and foster equitable participation in India’s evolving mobility sector.

Our mission goes beyond building the largest EV fleet; it’s about creating an equitable and sustainable mobility ecosystem for all,” said Akash Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of Zypp Electric. “With Shell Foundation’s support, we will expand into new markets, empower women entrepreneurs in the gig economy, and scale our EV Training Academy to train the EV workforce of the future.

Zypp Electric has already marked major milestones — completing 50 million green deliveries, deploying over 20,000 EVs across multiple cities, and offsetting more than 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. With a vision to deploy 1 million EVs by 2030, Zypp aims to play a leading role in India’s clean logistics transition.

The partnership represents a crucial step in advancing women’s participation in the EV sector, expanding sustainable delivery networks, and ensuring that the benefits of India’s electric mobility revolution extend to every corner of the country.
