The BMW Group continued to strengthen its position in the global electric vehicle (EV) market, reporting a 10% rise in fully-electric vehicle (BEV) sales during the first nine months of 2025. The company delivered 323,447 BEVs worldwide between January and September, underscoring its steady progress toward electrification despite regional market challenges.
Including plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), the Group sold a total of 470,313 electrified vehicles, representing a 15% year-on-year growth. Electrified models accounted for a significant portion of BMW’s total deliveries, reflecting sustained consumer demand for premium electric mobility solutions.
Demand for our wide range of electrified vehicles remains strong. The BMW Group reported a slight sales increase for the year to the end of September, driven by strong performance in Europe and the Americas,” said Jochen Goller, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Customer, Brands, and Sales.
BMW Brand Leads EV Sales
The BMW brand alone delivered 395,998 electrified vehicles in the first nine months, up 4.5%, with plug-in hybrids posting an impressive 30.2% jump. BEVs continue to play a central role in BMW’s transformation strategy, supported by expanding production and model availability across global markets.
Regional Momentum
Europe and the Americas emerged as the strongest regions for BMW’s EV growth, posting overall sales increases of +9.3% and +24.4%, respectively. While demand in China softened, BMW’s global electrification efforts remained on track, driven by new launches and customer interest in plug-in hybrid and all-electric variants.
MINI’s Electric Future
The MINI brand’s transition toward full electrification continues to gain momentum. With the launch of the New MINI Family, global sales soared 37.5% in Q3 to 72,376 units, marking one of the brand’s best quarters yet as it prepares for a fully-electric lineup in the coming years.
Sustainable Growth Ahead
The BMW Group’s EV strategy aligns with its long-term vision of sustainable premium mobility. In 2024, the Group sold 2.45 million vehicles globally and reported €11 billion in pre-tax profits. With new electric models, including the BMW iX3 and upcoming Neue Klasse vehicles, BMW aims to further accelerate its electrified transformation and reinforce its leadership in the global premium EV segment.
