Iberdrola is strengthening its investment portfolio in innovative and sustainable business models with its commitment to TRIBBU, Spain’s leading urban carpooling platform. Through its PERSEO programme—created nearly two decades ago to support high-impact entrepreneurial projects—the company has led TRIBBU’s latest €1 million financing round. This investment reinforces Iberdrola’s dedication to fostering efficient, affordable and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

Formerly known as Hoop Carpool, TRIBBU aims to make car sharing accessible to a wider audience. After establishing itself among companies and universities, the platform is now expanding to individual users. With over 55,000 registered users and more than half a million trips completed, TRIBBU plans—with Iberdrola’s backing—to reach 15 million shared journeys by 2027, helping to avoid more than 60 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Each shared trip generates certified energy savings, which can be converted into financial incentives through the Ministry for Ecological Transition’s Energy Saving Certificates (CAE) system. Drivers can also earn around €1 per shared journey through the platform’s Bono Energético (Energy Voucher).
