Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a contract with ENOC Group to expand the electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network at ENOC service stations across Dubai, marking a significant step in the emirate’s efforts to strengthen its green mobility infrastructure.
The agreement was signed during the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2025), organized by DEWA from 30 September to 2 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC. The contract was signed by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, and Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail, in the presence of senior officials from both entities.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said,
“In collaboration with our partners from the government and private sectors, we are enhancing Dubai’s green mobility journey by developing an integrated infrastructure for electric vehicle charging. This contributes to reducing carbon emissions and achieving the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy.”
He added that the partnership with ENOC forms part of DEWA’s EV Green Charger initiative, launched in 2014 to support the growing adoption of electric vehicles across the emirate.
Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC, emphasized the partnership’s role in supporting national sustainability goals, stating,
“Our collaboration with DEWA marks a strategic milestone in advancing the UAE’s green agenda and positioning Dubai as a global hub for sustainability and innovation. By expanding the fast-charging network across our service stations, we aim to meet the evolving needs of customers and contribute to the nation’s sustainable development objectives.”
Through the EV Green Charger initiative, DEWA currently provides more than 1,500 charging points across Dubai in partnership with public and private sector entities. The expansion with ENOC will further accelerate the emirate’s transition toward smart and sustainable transportation.
