Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, achieved a major production milestone with the roll-out of its 5,00,000th vehicle from its Hosur manufacturing facility. The milestone vehicle was the company’s flagship family scooter, Ather Rizta, which has swiftly become a key growth driver since its launch last year.

Speaking on the occasion, Swapnil Jain, Co-founder and CTO of Ather Energy, said, “Crossing 5,00,000 scooters is a major milestone for Ather. From our very first prototype to today, our journey has been about building not just vehicles, but a scalable, reliable, and consistent manufacturing ecosystem. This achievement reflects years of focused engineering, rigorous testing, and meticulous attention to quality at every stage of production. It also highlights the dedication of teams across the company and the trust and support of our owner community.”

Since its inception, Ather has developed a strong lineup of performance and family-oriented electric scooters. The Rizta, in particular, has quickly emerged as a core pillar of growth, accounting for over one-third of total production volumes within a year of launch. The company has also intensified its expansion into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in North and Middle India, strengthening its presence alongside metro markets.

Currently, Ather operates two manufacturing facilities in Hosur—one for vehicle assembly and another for battery production—with a combined capacity of 4.2 lakh scooters annually. To meet the surging demand, the company is setting up a third state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, “Factory 3.0,” in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

Developed in two phases under Industry 4.0 principles, the new plant will integrate advanced digital technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency and scalability. Once fully operational, Factory 3.0 will boost Ather’s total installed production capacity to 1.42 million electric two-wheelers per year, further cementing its position as one of India’s leading EV manufacturers.
