EKA Mobility Delivers Electric Buses to AIIMS Under Power Grid CSR Initiative

EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicle and technology company, has successfully completed the delivery of three 9-metre electric buses to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. The project was funded through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Power Grid Corporation of India and procured via a tender on the Government of India’s GeM portal through a reverse auction.

The newly inducted buses feature a 23+1 seating configuration with pushback seats for enhanced passenger comfort. They are also equipped with a wheelchair and hydraulic lift, ensuring seamless access for differently abled passengers—marking a significant step toward inclusive and accessible urban mobility.

The initiative was ceremonially flagged off by Shri R.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director of Power Grid, and Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS, in the presence of senior dignitaries including Shri Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), Shri Vikram Singh Bhal, Executive Director (CMG), Shri Jasbir Singh, Executive Director (CSR), and Shri Alok Kumar Sharma, Executive Director (NR-I), alongside other officials from Power Grid and AIIMS.

Expressing his views, Mr. Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, said, “We are proud to partner with AIIMS and Power Grid Corporation of India to deliver these advanced buses that combine comfort, safety, and accessibility. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to sustainable and inclusive mobility for all.”

The electric buses will serve as a safe, sustainable, and efficient last-mile mobility solution at AIIMS, easing daily commutes for patients, staff, and visitors, while empowering differently abled individuals to travel with dignity and ease.
