ThunderPlus, India’s fastest-growing EV charging network, has inaugurated its second women-owned EV charging franchise in the country—and the very first in Andhra Pradesh. The milestone marks a dual leap: accelerating electric vehicle adoption while empowering women entrepreneurs in the clean mobility sector.
The new charging station, located at Hotel Vijayashree on NH-16 along the busy Vijayawada–Guntur Highway, offers a convenient pit stop for EV users. Starting with a 50 kW capacity, scalable up to 1 MW, the facility is equipped with a 30 kW DC CCS2 fast charger and two 3.3 kW AC chargers, serving two-, three-, and four-wheelers.
Franchise owner Mrs. Leela Lakshmi expressed pride in leading the initiative, saying, “This isn’t just about charging vehicles, it’s about charging dreams. I want more women to embrace technology-driven businesses and help build a greener, more sustainable India. ThunderPlus’s trust, technology, and end-to-end franchise support gave me the confidence to enter this sector.”
Highlighting the inclusivity of the model, Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus, said, “We’re here to remove charging anxiety from India’s EV ecosystem while democratising the business model so that anyone—even a housewife with a dream—can be part of this revolution. This launch proves how ThunderPlus is enabling everyday people to step into entrepreneurship and shape India’s clean mobility future.”
Industry experts note that ThunderPlus’s franchise model is lowering entry barriers for first-time entrepreneurs, especially women, by offering turnkey solutions, 24×7 technical assistance, and centralized operations. The approach has already transformed ambition into action, positioning ThunderPlus as a leader not only in sustainable infrastructure but also in social empowerment.
With this launch, ThunderPlus reinforces its mission to make EV adoption synonymous with inclusivity, opportunity, and a cleaner tomorrow.
