The Alliance for Automotive Innovation announced that HAAS Alert, a Chicago-based developer of connected safety technology, has joined its broad coalition of auto manufacturers, suppliers, advanced battery manufacturers, autonomous vehicle producers, and semiconductor makers. The announcement highlights the expanding ecosystem of companies committed to advancing transportation safety through innovation.
HAAS Alert operates Safety Cloud®, a digital alert platform that connects tens of thousands of emergency and roadway fleets to millions of drivers through in-vehicle systems and mobile applications. The service delivers real-time alerts using cellular networks, notifying drivers of nearby emergency vehicles, work zones, tow trucks, and other active road hazards.
John Bozzella, president and CEO of the Alliance, welcomed the company, stating, “HAAS Alert’s technology will lead to a more connected and collision-free driving environment – a mission everyone can get behind.”
Jeremy Agulnek, Senior Vice President of Connected Vehicle at HAAS Alert, emphasized that joining the Alliance is an important milestone for advancing connected safety standards. “We’re proud to work alongside industry leaders to build smarter and safer roads,” he said.
The Safety Cloud system is already used as a data input for ADAS and automated driving systems, providing accurate real-time information about roadway hazards. In addition to alerting drivers about approaching emergency vehicles, its car-to-car alert capability helps warn motorists about disabled vehicles ahead, enhancing situational awareness and reducing the likelihood of secondary crashes.
Agulnek added that the company’s goal is to help bridge the gap between public safety and the automotive industry to better protect those working on the roadside.
