Tata Power-DDL signs MoU with Magna Yuma

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a major power utility serving nearly 9 million residents in North Delhi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Magna Yuma Private Limited to establish Electric Vehicle (EV) battery swapping stations across its operational areas.

As part of the agreement, Tata Power-DDL will provide dedicated space within its substations, while Magna Yuma will take charge of designing, procuring, installing, and maintaining the battery-swapping infrastructure. The first two stations will be set up at Shalimar Bagh Facility Centre Grid and Badli Grid.

The MoU was formalized in the presence of senior leadership from both companies, including Mr. Dwijadas Basak, CEO of Tata Power-DDL, along with key officials such as Ms. Kiran Gupta, Mr. Praveen Agrawal, Mr. Raj Kumar Rastogi, and Mr. Surender Singh. Representing Magna Yuma were Mr. Abhilash Kumar, Lead Business Head, and Mr. Harshal Gupta, Lead – Public Policy & Government Affairs.

The partnership is aimed at boosting Delhi’s EV ecosystem, particularly targeting commercial electric two- and three-wheelers that power the city’s growing gig and delivery economy. The initiative also aligns with Delhi’s clean mobility goals by supporting sustainable transport, curbing emissions, and reducing reliance on conventional charging methods.

The collaboration is also expected to deter power theft and support more efficient, scalable shared e-mobility models across the capital.
