Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced its plans as an official global partner for the upcoming World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 (WCH Tokyo 25). With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and athlete support, Honda will contribute significantly to making the event environmentally responsible while enhancing the overall experience for athletes and spectators alike.

Under the theme “Maximizing the excitement and inspiration from the athletes’ great performance, through the realization of an environmentally-responsible and safe event,” Honda will deploy a range of advanced mobility solutions—including electric and hybrid vehicles—to support the logistics and operations of the championships.

At the forefront of its green fleet will be the Honda CR-V e:FCEV, a next-generation plug-in fuel cell electric vehicle. The CR-V e:FCEV will be used as the head umpire vehicle for both the men’s and women’s marathon races. This vehicle features the dual advantage of hydrogen fuel cell technology—offering a long driving range and quick refueling—and plug-in battery charging. Importantly, it will run on green hydrogen, produced through renewable sources, aligning with the event’s carbon-neutral objectives.

Joining the lineup is the Honda CUV e:, an electric personal commuter scooter, which will be used as camera bikes for marathon race coverage. These scooters are engineered for clean and quiet urban mobility, ensuring minimal disruption during live broadcasts.

In addition to these flagship models, Honda will supply a diverse lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) to support various facets of event management and mobility.

Further solidifying its presence at WCH Tokyo 25, Honda will be a bib sponsor for all female athletes, with its corporate logo appearing on approximately 1,000 bibs. This sponsorship is part of Honda’s broader commitment to empowering athletes and promoting global sportsmanship.

To keep fans and stakeholders engaged, Honda has also launched a dedicated World Athletics webpage on its global corporate site, offering continuous updates, stories of athlete journeys, and behind-the-scenes features on the Honda vehicles powering the event.

With this comprehensive support strategy, Honda aims not only to promote cleaner mobility but also to energize the world of athletics, reflecting its core values of safety, sustainability, and inspiration through innovation.
