Nash Energy, India’s only large-scale LFP cell manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S.-based Rincell Corporation, a developer of next-generation rechargeable cell technologies. The partnership aims to produce advanced Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery cells in India — a move set to bolster the country’s clean energy and electric mobility ecosystem.

A pioneer in India’s battery industry, Nash Energy operates the country’s first mass-scale LFP cell manufacturing facility in Bengaluru and serves more than 15 domestic and international clients. The company plans to scale up with a 10 GWh manufacturing plant, developed in phases based on market demand and commercial commitments.

As part of the MoU, Rincell will transfer its proprietary NMC battery cell technology to Nash Energy. In turn, Nash will establish a new production facility in India and lead commercialization and market outreach efforts.

The collaboration will initially focus on manufacturing Rincell’s high-performance cell formats — including 18650 (4.1Ah), 21700 (5.8Ah), and advanced NMC variants (5Ah/5C and 4Ah/8C) — designed to meet diverse customer requirements. Both companies will engage closely with Tier-1 and Tier-2 customers to build on current purchase agreements and co-develop future battery cell designs. “We’re thrilled to partner with Rincell to bring advanced battery technology to India,” said Sanjay S. Wadhwa, Managing Director of Nash Energy. “This initiative will help accelerate the adoption of clean energy and electric mobility in the country.”
