U Power Limited, AI-driven solutions provider for advanced energy grids and intelligent transportation, has officially launched Southeast Asia’s first operational smart battery-swapping station on Phuket Island, Thailand. The milestone builds on U Power’s proprietary UOTTATM battery-swapping technology and follows the May 2025 rollout of the region’s first battery-swapping-compatible electric taxi fleet. Developed through a joint venture with SUSCO Public Company Limited, the Thailand Station is the first 24/7 smart swapping facility designed specifically for electric taxis and ride-hailing fleets—paving the way for a more sustainable, AI-integrated transportation infrastructure in Thailand.
The Thailand Station launch completes U Power’s end-to-end ecosystem, which began with the April 2025 delivery of swappable EVs in collaboration with UNEX EV and CP-MG. Now operational as taxis in Phuket, these vehicles are supported by an AI-powered, weather-resistant station designed for rapid battery swaps within minutes. Engineered to handle the island’s tropical conditions, the station is also Southeast Asia’s first zero-carbon battery-swapping site. Integrated with U Power’s Battery-bank system, it enables drivers to earn battery tokens through swapping activities—an incentive model designed to grow as the network expands and more compatible EVs enter service across the region.
