PlugNride Unveils India’s First Indigenous E-Bike for Africa at Nigerian Embassy in New Delhi

In a landmark event symbolizing Indo-African collaboration in sustainable technology, PlugNride Motors, a leading Indian electric mobility company, officially launched its first indigenously developed electric bike designed specifically for African terrains and transport needs.

The grand unveiling took place at the Embassy of Nigeria in New Delhi, graced by Mr. Ubong Akpan Johnny, the Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to India, who officially revealed the e-bike to an audience of dignitaries, industry leaders, and media representatives.

“This is not just a vehicle, it’s a vision,” said Mr. Johnny after a successful test ride of the new model. “I am truly impressed with the engineering and practicality of this electric bike. It is well-suited for Nigeria and other parts of Africa. I congratulate the PlugNride team for their vision and commitment to sustainable mobility for emerging markets. This product reflects a powerful synergy between Indian innovation and African aspirations.”

Also present at the event was Mr. Zafar Equbal, Founder of PlugNride Motors, who shared the company’s enthusiasm about entering the African market.

The electric bike, developed after extensive research and testing, features a rugged design, high load capacity, and enhanced battery performance. It has been optimized for urban commuting, last-mile delivery, and rural accessibility across diverse African geographies.

The unveiling event concluded with a live demonstration of the bike’s capabilities, showcasing its durability and performance. A networking session followed, bringing together stakeholders from India and Nigeria to explore future avenues of cooperation in the electric mobility sector.
