Hyundai Motor Company has officially unveiled its second high-performance electric vehicle, the IONIQ 6 N, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, signaling a bold leap forward in the brand’s electrification journey. Building on the acclaimed IONIQ 5 N, this new model brings track-level performance and everyday usability to the next generation of EV enthusiasts.
With blistering performance figures — 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 257 km/h — the IONIQ 6 N is powered by 650 PS (478 kW) and 770 Nm of torque. Developed with cutting-edge components from Hyundai’s motorsport programs and rolling labs, the EV represents the brand’s core “N” pillars: Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar.
Festival goers at Goodwood witnessed the IONIQ 6 N in full action during the much-anticipated “N Moment” showcase, where Hyundai’s top performance models stormed the legendary Hillclimb.
A Fusion of Speed, Sound, and Style
At the heart of the IONIQ 6 N is a newly revamped N Battery Management System designed to optimize thermal control and charging efficiency under extreme conditions. From sprint races to endurance challenges, the car stays track-ready with its intelligent pre-conditioning features and upgraded coolant heater system.
Aerodynamically sculpted with widened fenders and a motorsport-inspired swan neck rear wing, the IONIQ 6 N pairs its aggressive look with functional stability at high speeds. Its striking new Performance Blue Pearl color enhances the N identity while adding refined visual depth.
Technological Mastery for the Track and Beyond
The IONIQ 6 N is packed with Hyundai’s most advanced software yet. Highlights include:
- N e-Shift: Simulates gear changes for a visceral, motorsport-like feel
- N Active Sound+: Immersive audio modes like Ignition, Evolution, and Lightspeed
- N Drift Optimizer: Adjustable drift behavior for track enthusiasts
- N Track Manager: Real-time lap data, ghost racing, and custom circuit creation
- N Ambient Shift Light: Visual cues for optimal gear shifting within the cockpit
Hyundai engineers also introduced stroke-sensing ECS dampers, redesigned suspension geometry, and a reworked chassis for responsive handling without compromising everyday ride comfort.
“IONIQ 6 N is not just an EV — it’s a high-performance machine engineered to electrify driving passion both on and off the track,” said José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.
“With advanced dynamics, sharp design, and immersive driver controls, it sets a new benchmark for electric performance,” added Manfred Harrer, EVP and Head of Vehicle Development Tech Unit.
With the launch, Hyundai also announced a full range of N performance parts, allowing drivers to personalize their EVs for both street and circuit.
